I have had anew Computer built and a new version of XP is installed. From my 9 years old Computer everything has been transferred via a Memory stick.
Before transfer of old data I clicked on new version of Outlook Express and managed to find mr Google address but after the transfer the old version of Outlook Express invited me to register which I did not.
I cannot now find my new Outlook Express.
Worse still I cannot find my Internet Banking!!!!!!!!!!1
I have tried Google Desktop Search and Windows Desktop Search result being No Trace.
Please please can anyone help? It must be obvious to all that I am not technically minded so will need step by step instruction if anyone has time!
    Thank you.

It sounds to me like you're trying to migrate your Email data from your XP system to Vista, if this is the case. Then there is a walkthrough here: http://www.vista4beginners.com/Migrate-from-Outlook-Express-to-Windows-Mail

    and a google search:
    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=migrating+Outlook+Express+email+from+xp+to+vista&btnG=Google+Search

I sugest reading through the first link, then do some general reading of the google search links and try to work out what you've done so far, and what you need to do next to get to the point whereby all your data is on the one computer.

    HTH
It could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.
  • Hiya,

If outlook express is loaded on your pc you can access it by clicking on start, then run then typing in
[SIZE=-1]"msimn.exe" without the quotes and this will load up your outlook express.

    Hope this helps.

  • Sorry can't even find run.
The new version is Microsoft Windows Vista
    Ultimate Edition Version 6.
I thought that this was XP as when the person who built the Computer put on Vista Talk Talk would not install as 18 months old modem was not compatible with Vista When he installed this version, Talk Talk was installed without a problem.
    • 1. Right click the
    Start button
    2. Left Click Properties
    3. Click Customize button beside the Start Menu selection
    4. Scroll down and check the checkbox on Run Command
    5. Click OK and OK
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

If you're running Vista then Outlook Express isn't installed by default, it's Windows Mail instead. If you type msimn.exe in the run dialog box or in the search box it is Windows Mail you will not Outlook Express, unless the person who built your machine has specifically installed Outlook Express.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

  • Thank you to all who tried to help find my Email.
The good news is I found it in a Microsoft Office Programme that I have never used.
Once more thank you all for your patience!!!!!!
