Help can't find anything!!!!!!!!

I have had anew Computer built and a new version of XP is installed. From my 9 years old Computer everything has been transferred via a Memory stick.
Before transfer of old data I clicked on new version of Outlook Express and managed to find mr Google address but after the transfer the old version of Outlook Express invited me to register which I did not.
I cannot now find my new Outlook Express.
Worse still I cannot find my Internet Banking!!!!!!!!!!1
I have tried Google Desktop Search and Windows Desktop Search result being No Trace.
Please please can anyone help? It must be obvious to all that I am not technically minded so will need step by step instruction if anyone has time!
Thank you.

  • Outlook Express is normally a default option at the top when you click on 'Start'. Is yours not there?
  • The Icon from my previous system is on the start menu but invites me to set up an Account when I try to send a message.
The Icon that was on the new system was working although missing the Address Book and Folders I had saved. I cannot find that Icon. It was a newer version of Outlook Express.
  • Right, The option on the start menu is actually the newer version I'd imagine. That's why it wants you to create an account.

Rather than search for a shortcut (which is what you seem to have been doing), go straight to the OE folder.
    C:/Program Files/Outlook Express

Launch from there, rather than use a shortcut. You'll know from there if it's the same version you want.

I'm a little confused about the 'two' versions of OE though. You should only have one, but need to tell it where the folders with your saved info from old PC is.
  • Where do I find the OE folder?
I have no idea where any files except pictures and documents have gone from old PC.
  • Can anyone suggest a way of finding my Online Banking and my Email?
    Thank you.

What do you mean by "online banking"? Normally you just use a web browser, do you have to install a specific application?

To be honest I'd go and speak to whoever built your new PC and saved your data.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

  • I had put in passwords etc for my Bank Account to enable me to access my Current Account. Everything on my old Computer was transferred by Memory Stick.
Person who built Computer was unable to find my Email Account.

Where had you put the passwords? In a word file? Spreadsheet? If so where did you save the file?

The OP isn't very clear, are you saying your new computer has XP installed? Was XP also on your old pc?
