Think I saw it for £2.99 Nero 6 version on https://www.savapoint.com

Look in the "free gift" section, the £2.99 is for the p&p

Careful... it's not free unless you already have a serial number (and you will probably have paid for that  )

It is actually a free UPDATE to the latest version before their new flagship package, Nero 6 Ultra Edition. This means, as far as I can tell anyway, that you have to already have Nero 6.x, either as part of a bundle if you bought a new PC recentlty (you'll have to check if it allows upgrades without charge), or you paid for it separately.

Don't download it expecting to get Nero for free... you'll be dissapointed

I downloaded it and it installed OK and it did not ask me for a serial number.

    Seems OK to me.

Sorry...I was wrong..you were right. As soon as I went to perform a task, it asked me for a serial number and advised me to buy the package....Not free at all and now I have to uninstall.

If you have Windows Xp the best free programme is:

    CDBurnerXP Pro 3:

Yes of course you can get a serial number by searching for it, but that's illegal.

The other thing to note is that Ahead Software (who make Nero) have one of the most aggressive anti-piracy checks I know of... it checks for pirated serial numbers, just as your "friend" did, and blocks them with each new version. Also the software checks regularly with their registration servers and disables any illegally registered software...

Why not just google for "free cd burner software" instead? CDBurnerXP and hundreds of others are available free... no lawbreaking required!
