Someone Please Give Me Peace Of Mind :-(

i got a letter the other day saying i owed £2500 from a car i had on finance in 1999,i aparently last paid something in 2003,the total value was £6800 and i paid off £4000 and then met (my now wife) and moved to swindon where she was from,and kind of got side tracked and stopped paying for one reason or another(not deliberate)i moved back to leicester with her where i am now,now this company has said its been sending letters and phoning and i've been ignoring them which i havent even had a call or letter from them..now there telling me to go bankrupt,i dont work due to ilness,i have 3 kids under 15,and on benefits.they also said there gonna come round and take all my belongings,i have offered a payment and wanted to set up a payment plan which they refused with no compromise.....now im losing sleep worrying about what will happen?? can anyone help

Just wanted to bump this up, so it doesn't get missed. The only thing I can think of is to call someone like CCCS to get some free advice, but i'm sure someone will be along shortly to give some further advice.

I'm no expert on this, all I can do is give big (((HUGS))). I would suggest that you go to the CAB as soon as possible and see if they can help you.
I'm sure someone else will be along soon with more (and better) advise. Anyway, this will bump you back to the first page.

Sorry to hear of your predicament, I would take all correspondence to the CAB, and ask them for help, at least with contacting the company & also setting up a payment plan with them, you really need to speak to someone urgently, the CAB can mediate & help to stop the bully boy tactics of debt collection agencies.
