Saw some in The Works today. Normal shredder was down from £9.99 to £6.99 and the cross cut shredder was down from £12.99 to £9.99. I don't know if they do online though. Other places to try are Wilkinson, B&M (Bargain Madness) sometimes Habs, Asda, Staples, Partners, Ryman Stationers. Most of the ones I have seen have been about the £10 mark. Just checked on Amazon and there was one on there for just over £22 but it looked same kind as the others mentioned. If practice makes perfect, and nobody is perfect....................................

I went through several shredders before finding something reliable, in the end I bought a http://www.the-shredder-warehouse.com/products/hsm/X15.php from that same company, it's ended up being well worth it. It's both reliable and what's more it shreds cd\dvd's in batches of upto 30 an hour which impressed one of my friends whose thousand pound version broke when he tried to put the same number through in a short amount of time
If you don't require anything as 'heavy duty' or if you've got kids running around, I would feel inclinded to buy something like these: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6701578/Trail/searchtext%3ESHREDDER.htm or http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fellowes-PS-67CS-Confetti-SafeSense-Shredder/dp/B000NK0926/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1203520095&sr=8-2 if only for the 'SafeSense' technology that cuts out when childrens fingers are likely to be close by.
In my experience, if you're spending less than £60 on a shredder, its a bit of a false ecconomy as its likely to fail at some point usually just outside of guaranteeAlso, it's advisable to squirt some kind of oil into the blade compartment every 3 - 4 uses as this keeps the blades moving freely, something like a couple of drops of regular vegetable oil is good. Don't use anything like WD40 however as it includes little pieces of metal that are designed to smooth sharpened edges.
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0
