i dont know whether this is useful, i registered and got £5 credit to account for 20 phone call (i dont seem to have been charged the 20p? seems to be free until 1st June 2008, so i shall cancel by then!)

For the period 1st July 2007 to 31st May 2008 inclusive, all Mobile Banking customers will receive free MONILINK™ Mobile Banking. From 1 June 2008 standard charges for using the service shall apply: 20p for a balance enquiry and 25p for a mini statement (last six transactions). Charges will be shown on your mobile phone bill or deducted from available credit if a pre-pay phone. Mobile phone Top-Ups: There is no service charge for Top-Ups. Mobile phone Top-Ups will be debited directly from your current account and will be shown on your current account statement.
**Additional overseas network charges may apply when used abroad.
£5 registration and use offer
The offer is only open to new successful registrations for MONILINK™ Mobile Banking where a transaction has been undertaken (i.e. balance enquiry, mini-statement or Mobile Phone Top-Up) between 1st February 2008 and 31st May 2008. The offer may be withdrawn at any time. The new registration must be on a new mobile number and new account not already registered for MONILINK™ Mobile Banking.
Customers can either register via the MONILINK™ website www.alliance-leicester.monilink.co.uk, texting "A-L" to 82428 on their mobile phone or if an existing Internet Banking customer by logging onto Internet Banking and choosing the Mobile Banking option in the left hand menu. Mobile Banking is only available to current account customers (it is not available for Basic Cash Account or Basic Banking Account customers).
Registration for MONILINK™ Mobile Banking is subject to MONILINK™'s terms and conditions (which include details of the right for consumers to cancel the contract that may be formed with MONILINK™) which are available via all registration methods.
If a customer registers more than one account the £5 payment will be made to the first account which is registered for MONILINK™ Mobile Banking provided the registration meets the eligibility criteria. Payment will be made within 35 days of the first transaction, provided that this occurs between 1st February 2008 and 31st May 2008 and that MONILINK™ Mobile Banking has not been cancelled in the meantime. Where joint account customers apply for the promotion, only one £5 payment per joint account will be paid. If a customer also registers for MONILINK™ Mobile Banking with another bank participating in the offer with MONILINK™, only one £5 payment will be made to the first account registered. Customers already registered for MONILINK™ Mobile Banking prior to 1st February 2008 are not eligible for the £5 offer, even if they delete MONILINK™ and reload MONILINK™ to their mobile phone. The offer is not valid in conjunction with any other offer. Any dispute as to a customer's receipt of, or eligibility for, the £5 will be decided by MONILINK™ in its sole and binding discretion. Offer is also available to staff of Alliance & Leicester plc and its subsidiaries.

Did it when it was £10 promotion and £10 came in about 4-6 weeks later.
I haven`t used the service at all after the initial sign up.I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T0
