Intrum Justitia - At End of Theather

Im doing another thread as I cant find my last one....

I am currently paying of an old credit card through the above Company and it has all gone very smoothly...until...now...

I have one payment left....and I had a letter on 5th February which when I finally got to the bottom of it....it appears my last five payments totally 455.00 have gone missing...

We are now three weeks on and my next and final payment is due this week...Im sick of ringing them to be told oh no news ...ring back ...or someone will ring you back but they never do...

Is there anything I can do to put pressure on this company to get their finger out and sort this out???

Do you have records of your payments - i.e., the payment stubs from a payment book? Records of dates made? Cheque book stubs?

I pay them by Standing Order and I have got my Statement showing all the payments, and also a record of the Payee Details showing the sort code and account number, which is according to them is correct....they either cant find they payments, have paid them to someone else or just cant be bothered to even look...

I would get a photocopy of that statement, write a nice brief letter stating "here is a copy of my payments" and send it recorded delivery to them.

Then make your last payment, cancel your standing order and about 1 month later ring & ask them for written confirmation that your account is now clear. (they DO do this, as I requested & received a letter when I'd paid off my account)

Have you made more than this 5 payments to them? Or is it only these ones that they have misplaced?

If you have done everything and kept receipts of faxing I would let the last month be paid, cancel the standing order and then let them chase you. It seems weird as if you are a day late paying Intrum are on the case and yet they let it go 5 months...

Once they start asking where it is photocopy the evidence and tell them you are happy to let it go to court. I doubt they would let it go that far!

Actually Rayday2 I was surprised they let it go 5 months...they are normally really hot on things like this....which I never gave it a second thought...after all I could see the payments going out each month etc....

You have the proof so I would not worry just make sure you keep it. I know its easy to say and I worry about my DCA when disputes come up but you cannot make a brick wall listen. So I would pay what you know you owe and just wait to see what happens. I would also from now on keep all correspondance via recorded delivery post.

Good Idea, I have sent a ltter of complaint the their Customer Services...but Im not holding my breath.... doubt I will hear anything back....

I know it sounds really stupid but Im really put out by how annoyed they get when I ring them up for a progress report....after the way they treat other people by nagging them to death....it seems they are equally rude when its them that has to find the money...
