your help required to clear debts

You say a computer was bought on credit for your partners sister who is at university? As far as I am aware (I just left uni) all uni's have free computer access for all students.
Similarly, as it now the summer, is your partners sister working? Could she not take over this now? She would surely earn enough over the summer to repay the rest of that particular debt. I appreciate that it was a lovely kind gesture, but surely your partners sister would be mortified if she knew how much debt you were in, and it would only be right for her to repay that - considering you bailed her out when she needed a replacement.
