Payment Protection

I was contacted last week by telephone by a young lady explaining to me that I could claim back on monies that I had spent on Payment Protection plan. I have a loan in which I am paying and she said she could look into it and claim money back as even if I was out of work, nine times out of ten they wouldn't cover me anyway and even if I was sick the likelihood of them helping would be slim. Anyway I didn't really understand it all and asked her to send out forms etc. The company is EMC Advisory Servicer. Has anyone dealt with them? I thought I needed to have payment protection as I have this on my cc's too? I'm very confused now this woman has said I don't need it and companys shouldn't be fooling people to make this payments!!!???
Any advice would be greatly received!
