My Dad is born in 1948 and has worked plenty years above the 30. Can he stop paying NI as it won't make a difference paying anything extra?

If he is working he has to continue to pay NI as they cover him for other things apart from pension.
If he is not working he needn't pay any more if he has done his 30 years.
My husband is in a similar position - retirement date 2014, he has paid 36 years NI and as he is not working doesn't need to pay any more.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
