I feel I have to add to this thread and say that I would definitely NOT recommend one of these lamps to anyone.
We have just returned one that we bought a week ago due to the fact that it practically went on fire:eek: :eek:
The lining on the inside of the lamp looks like paper, but is in fact a plastic material which melted from the heat from the bulbs and was starting to smoulder:mad: - the best bit of all being that they recommend using no higher than 60w bulbs and ours are only 40w!! (I dread to think what would have happened with 60s in it).
Anyone thinking that they missed out on a bargain can think themselves lucky that they did'nt buy it - I certainly wish I had'nt:mad:Dear Lord,

They apologised profusely and said that they would make sure the lamp was checked out to see if it should have failed a quality control check and would get back to us to let us know the outcome as we happened to mention that a friend had also bought one of them while they were at £7.49 and they were worried that the same thing would happen to theirs.Dear Lord,
