I think it is actually good news if MBNA have sold it on everyone who is on a DMP seem to find MBNA one of the hardest to deal with. Basically you treat any debt collecting agency the same as the original finance company they have no greater powers at all. Usually they are slightly better at accepting offers and definately better at financial settlements later on down the line as they purchased the debt for less.
Just sit tight and wait really. You will find the longer you are on a DMP the less of the original creditors you deal with most pass them onto other companies.0 -
We had a debt passed to link about 6 months ago. At first they hounded us to higher payments through cccs. advised to keep paying what we were and havn't heard anything from them for a few months. They havn't stopped interest though so debt going up and not down!!Proud to be dealing with my debts through cccs
#3 MAD ebay challange aim £500 so far £390.17 :j0 -
I found Link financial worse than MBNA!!! Finally agreed to partially settle with MBNA but had another debt passed to Link. They were very agressive, didn't like the payment I was making and ended up applying and getting a charging order placed on my house, certainly not a company I like dealing with - wouldn't even consider settling at a lower amount (my dad offered to pay a reduced amount), and like other posters they still added interest.
Hope things go better for you:jdebt April 2007:
Link Financial £6486.79
MSDW £4915.45
Natwest Loan £30651.43
Tesco £3824.09
Total debt.... a staggering £45877.76, but reducing

I would request notice of assignment and CCA from any DCA . One reason the OC sell on debt is they have lost or never had a correctly signed Agreement.0
