Hey there, just thought I would add my tuppence worth to see if I can help in any way. It's manageable but you will have to be very strict with yourselves while you are going through this temporary blip.

    Hubbies Salary pm £1395
    Child benefit £125.40

    Total £1520.40

    Outgoing:

Loan to my Dad £25.00 ( Can he freeze this for you for a while or take a token £5 for a bit until you are bit better off)
    TV licence £11.75
Specsavers £22.00 ( Umm, do you really need this ? Shop around ?)
Life insurance £24.77 (Much cheaper deals elsewhere, shop around )
Phone & internet £52.00 (Extortionate, i've just switched to talk talk, £19.99, first 3 months half price, includes broadband, calls and line rental)
Endowment £169.19 ( Is this to pay off your mortgage or purely a savings vehicle ? If savings only look at selling it )
    Mortgage £633.60
Overdraft interest £12.00 ( another bank might take this on, worth investigating, transfer excess debt to interest free credit card if you can get one )
Account charge £15.00 (Which bank charges a fee for giving them your business ?)
    Pmt into fund
for my two boys £20.00 (like the other posters said, postpone this for a while, they don't need it, they have loving parents who need to prioritise keeping a roof over their heads)
Water £87.50 (What ??? There is a problem here, I am with Southern Water and pay £26 per month for a 3 bed (large) house ) get on the phone tomorrow and find out what's going on)
    Sky £38.84 (gotta go)
    Home insurance £23.36
Gas & electricity £80.00 (About right, mine isn't any cheaper)
Credit card £100.00 (this is where you need to do some work, interest free etc)
    Council tax £118.00
    Shopping £200.00
Petrol £80.00 (Savings by walking, car sharing, etc ? )
Alcohol & cigs £100.00 ( no need to say anything here, you know what needs to be done !!)

With careful restructure, I reckon you can claw back around £200 per month easily, good luck and let us know how you get on with the water people.
