If your'e a chippy it's odds-on you know a sparky, a plumber and a decorator. If there are any 4 [or 5] bed houses about which need work on them [not things like roofs or structural], then a good solution could be to knock into two flats. It's not that difficult, providing you make the entrances separate after the front door.

The work is not a problem with my dad has just retired from his building business not long ago so any work on property isnt a big thing its just financing it all.
I am rather dubious about going in on something like this with mates, i mean i can trust them but none of them are as committed or ambitious as i am so i doubt they would do it.0 -
The cheapest 4/5 bed house that could be converted into two flats would be £250k upwards probably more and the bank will not lend me that much. Until im earning £35k upwards i think probably the only option is to go in on it with another person.0
