Hi all,
Those of you that "know" me will know I'm on a CCCS DMP, it's early days, and it seems to be going ok so far, apart from one creditor (GE Money) who I owe the least to, but are like a dog with a bone at me. They call me at least twice a day, but never leave messages if I don't answer, despite me writing a letter asking that they contact me in writing only.
However in a change of tactics, they called on Friday whilst I was out and actually left a message, asking me to call them back on an 0870 number!
I know that the OFT guidelines state that this is Unfair Business Practice, but what can I do about it?
Minor whinge I know, It's just getting me down that they know I'm doing everything I can.
Any suggestions?
CSx

You would write another letter with "formal complaint" on the top explain you have written before and it has been ignorned, quote the OFT guidelines and tell them this is the last warning before you report them. Also explain about the CCCS bit and they may just accept your plan a little early.
My hubby had a card with Burton which I think were part of GE Money and I remember they sent the worst of the letters (they could not ring I had changed my number!) but actually accepted as one of the first. Then they later referred to one of the best DCA I have dealt with. So hopefully a little light there for you!
I think some of the reason my companies accepted so quick was because none of them could ring me.0 -
Agree with others. Write to them again, stating that because you are with CCCS they should communicate in writing so that you can pass the correspondence on. You can't pass a phone call on can you? Include the fact that it is unfair to expect someone to return a call at an expensive rate and quote any guidelines you can.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

After changing my number about 6 months ago I had a few calls from DCA's wanting to speak to the person who had the number before me.
My OH just phoned them back and said we only just had this number, recycled by BT, and they just accepted it.
Why not try doing that, they don't know who you are.Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -
Thank you all once again for your advice, my "Official Complaint" will be winging its way in the post to them first thing tomorrow!
