    I wasn't already registered, so I signed up and it worked fine (had to allow cookies though).

    I had already done the log out and sign in job, as well. Couldn't be bothered to register again under a different email address. Guess I couldn't have wanted the freebie enough!

    The Times site did say that existing users should just follow the link, though. And there was/is no link to follow. Frustrating and time-wasting, and I didn't want to spend any more time on a site that isn't properly set up.
