Tesco Toothpaste Reduced

In Tesco's today all their 'Total Care + Whitening' toothpaste was reduced. The 100ml size is only 30p! Look for the yellow stickers on the shelves.

There are lots more reduced tubes too which are (probably) at these prices:

Tescos own Kids 44p
Tesco own sensitive + whitening 78p
Tesco own sensitive 56p
Arm and Hammer 98p

And a few others I can't remember.

The kids own toothpaste was only 18p a tube in my local branch yesterday (Ashford, Kent). My kids prefer it to more expensive ones as it is stripey!

Dont mean to be alarmist, but there was an article in one of the newspapers a few weeks ago. (Daily Mail, I think)

It warned about Triclosan being in LOADS of products, including toothpaste. It can cause cancer, or something. Sorry for being alarmist, and not remembering what it causes !!

We used the Tesco Total Care Whitening anyway, checked the packet, and it has Triclosan in it.

We started buying the blue box one instead, which isnt whitening.

Anyway, the article mentioned that Tesco toothpaste had Triclosan in and Tesco said they were looking at "reformulating".

I have kept checking the ingrediants on the whitening boxes for ages, and now they are reduced.

I would imagine it is so they can bring out the product without Triclosan in it, instead of just dumping all old stock (surely Tesco's can afford it).

Yeah, but so does chocolate if you eat it when you drink coffee, and loads of other stuff is carcenogenic (or however it's spelt)

If it was really that dangerous Tesco wouldn't be allowed to sell it.

Just come back from Sheffield, Abbeydale Tesco, and they now have the "new" whitening toothpaste, without Triclosan.

It is now called 'Daily Care Whitening'

Sorry, wasn't my intention in the slightest. Apologies if you read this in a way it wasn't intended...if I wanted to bite your head off I would have been a lot meaner!
