Though this wasn't allowed?

I've just noticed this on an ebay listing:

Terms of Sale
Once you receive your item, please leave us positive feedback.
If there is a problem with your order, please contact us so we can resolve and keep your experience with us a positive one!
We participate in eBay's voluntary feedback system as a courtesy to our customers.
Due to the volume of transactions, we use automated software that returns feedback left for us.

I didn't think that was allowed?

Perhaps that's the reason they have 100% feedback

Nothing out of the ordinary, ebay offer a service that automatically leaves positive feedback once they have received it. Can't see a problem.

Negative feedback for buyers will end in May 2008, but many people think it has taken effect already. It may explain the rise in petty neutrals and negatives being left recently.

There are no plans by eBay to disable the auto-feedback in Seller Manager Pro, and it it still does not stop sellers from waiting for feedback received, before leaving theirs for the buyer. This is no bad thing, and I won't be changing my feedback habits when the new policy kicks in. I will still leave feedback for any left for me - I would prefer not to leave any feedback at all under the new system, but it's unfair to penalise my buyers that do me the courtesy of leaving feedback for me.

  • I only now give feedback as a seller when I have had notification that the buyer has got the parcel. Although I ask only that they let me know of receipt most times the only confirmation I get is their feedback to me.

I usually do the same. But yes - more often than not it's not worth the wait for the delivery confirmation from them. It annoys me how the sense of community has gone down the pan. In the main, the buyers I've dealt with just treat you the same as a faceless shop i.e. you only get to hear from them when something has gone wrong.
