Debt Dr. - Should I?

I am at the point of not being able to pay my credit card bills and have made an appointment with a company called Debt Doctor. Does anyone know of them? Are they any good? Or is there a better way?

Please do not use these people. Go to the "problem debts" bit of this board - at the top of the page i think, and go to CCCS, Payplan, National Debtline or the CAB.
These people will make sure all the money you pay, goes directly off your debt. They are all charitable/not for profit organisations.
Debt Doctor, I understand, will charge a fee, meaning you are paying for their service and less money will go off your debt meaning it will take you much longer to pay off.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. As hypno says, don't go near.
Debt Dr. will advise whatever option makes them the fattest fee's (probably an IVA).
The organisations in my signature don't make profits from the advice they give, so the advice will be in your best interest and free. They can do pretty much everything Debt Dr. can do, and sometimes more.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Take the advice given and steer clear of Debt Doctor. Their fees will ensure you pay off your debts more slowly.
There are much better ways as already suggested which are the Consumer Credit Counselling Service, or Payplan or National Debtline. Any of these will help you for FREE.

I'm glad I didn't see this thread before I had Debt Dr help me.
I was really up against it and couldn't even face opening my post. The guy from debt dr made me go through it with him and discovered that i had a possession order on the flat. He sorted that out, god knows how, and helped me gt up straight with the payments and then helped my with bankruptcy, did all the forms came to court and saw the judge with me to.
He did charge a fee but I feel like the world is lifted off my shoulders.0 -

And you're glad you paid for the service and lined their pockets out of your misfortune when CCCS, Payplan and CAB will not charge you a penny and act in your interests and not theirs?Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Maybe so, but one of the debt charities would have helped you just as much and not charged the fee.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
