probably a stupid question but my £1.00 cheque was cashed today for my cca request. anyone know if this is a good thing or not?

Well, it proves they got the letter.
In theory they should only cash the fee if they intend to try and comply with the request.
But some of the less scrupulous (or perhaps clueless) companies will take it as a token payment on the debt. Strictly they shouldn't do that since it represents the "statutory fee" for processing the request under the CCA.

its the second time i have sent the request. the first time i sent the letter but i forgot to put the £1.00 in. but they sent me a template letter saying they cant accept my offer (no offer made).
so i started again.Watch this space.... Will update soon!0 -
I am inclined to agree with fermi - I think a "Thank you for your payment letter might be coming".
Does not matter really as if they do not produce the CCA they can't pursue the debt anyway.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
