help, make my shoes bigger

Options
I bought a really lovely pair of designer evening shoes in the sale (75% off so very OS) It was a cold day and they fitted perfectly at the time.....
They are navy blue velvet, lined in leather and have very high heels, but they were still comfy and I wore them round the house to 'break them in'
However, when I wore them out dancing and my feet got hot, my feet must have swelled up a little bit and my beautiful shoes were no longer comfy!!!!
I've tried using those gel instep thingies but to no avail, shoes still tight once my feet warm up. OH and I go ballroom dancing so taking them off and dancing round my handbag is not an option.
Has anyone got any ideas how I can stretch the shoes a bit....
(I even went back to the shop to buy a bigger size but they had sold out!!)

take them to a cobbler - they often have little wooden inserts in various sizes and shapes to stretch shoes. It takes 3 days though but it is worth it, I had a pair of Bally loafers done and it was great.

Loan them to someone with wide feet for a couple of days.

Spray the inside with water before you put them on.. they stretch to your feet as they dry.. I do mine a few times while I am out so as my feet swell the shoes stretch.

I have to buy a size bigger than I measure just to get my feet in them as they are so wide!!

a thin pair of those socks like tights help too.. they make it so much easier to slip your feet in and out and make them so much comfier..

I think those gel things are a total waste of money!

  • You can buy a product from any cobbler which you spray into the shoes until they're very wet, then put the shoes on and wear until they dry out.

This really does work, I've done it myself. I can't remember what it's called but if you describe the problem to the cobbler, they'll know.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
