  • How about finding some old fashioned clothes from a charity shop, stick some talcom powder in your hair so it looks white, draw some wrinkles on your face, and go as someone 70 years of age? When people ask why, say it was because you thought it was a SEVENTIES party...
As for freebies, maybe make something? If she is anything like my Mum, she will love that you have taken the time and effort. How about making a funny recipe book?
  • Why don't you give your mum a "Treat Voucher", saying that you will do something like spring cleaning the house or something else that you know she hates doing. Often a thought like that goes a lot further than more "stuff" that she does not need.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

Ha I like that it's different & would be cheap not sure how i'd look as a 70 year old but it would be fun to see!!! I'm going to make her a photo gallery to put on the wall at her party from when she was a baby to now! Thanks for your ideas!! xx:T

I went to a 40th birthday party and they had three cakes which I think were from Asda with photos dont think that they were to expensive you would have to check. On them one had a photo of her as a small child one when she was about 20ish and the last one of her as she is now everyone loved those if thats any help. They also scattered small photos of her on the table which were of her through the years.

If these are the Asda photo cakes that I am thinking of, then they are about £8 each:D
