A few little questions...

Hello all...hope you're having a good evening.

I am just setting up my DMP and to say I'm confused is an understatement. I'm finding it difficult getting address' for all my creditors as well as my account numbers seeing as I cut my cards up months ago and have online statements!!

Anyway, I have chosen the co-operative bank for my safe account and went into the branch the other day to set up the account. She said my application would have to be reviewed. Its now been a week and I still haven't heard anything. I called them today and they said they were still reviewing it? It's getting towards the end of the month and I do want to be paid into my old account and need to let the accounts department at work know of my new account soon. I thought, as its a bog-standard basic account I wouldn't be credit scored on it so why the long wait for a review?! Did anyone else have this problem?

Also, can someone give me some advice on how to send token payments to all my creditors when I send the letter explaining I'm setting up a DMP. I don't have a cheque book so the National Debt Helpline have suggested I do seperate postal orders - but I've never done this before and I'm confused.

I work as Cabin Crew for a long haul airline and I'm away so much, just came back today from a 5day trip and going on a 4day trip sunday...its so hard to try and get this organised with so little time.

I'M STRESSING!

Anyhelp would be much appreciated xx

I'm sorry to hear of your problem, I am not sre what to do. Perhaps you could try a different bank and just see if you can quickly set up an account inbetween working? Might be enough time?

Also - if you need to know creditors addresses, post up the names and I'm sure some clever soul will find them :D

My OH went to NatWest and they were very helpful - I think the Step account is their basic one? It was set up very quickly and he's had no problems with it in the 2 years he's been running it.

    nationwide basic account ?
  • I went to Barclays for my new account, I said I wanted a basic account with no overdraft etc. I was credit scored for the account though, even though I didnt borrow any money! It was set up within minutes.
When I set up my DMP with CCCS they sent me a letter template to send to all my creditors, have you set up the DMP yourself?
The token payments can be sent with the notification of DMP letters, just say please find enclosed a token payment ..., but I cant help with address sorry.
As for the bank account, I wouldnt wait much longer incase your wages go into your old account, could you go to another bank?

    Good luck
