Idea for present for First Holy Communion

My nephew is going to be doing his First Holy Communion and I'd like to get him a present but not sure what to get him. He is going to be 7 years old soon and my budget is about £50. We usually tend to get a present that is a bit long lasting but till now my experience has been with girls so I tended to buy jewellary. My nephew has Asperger's Syndrome so I was thinking something enducational, maybe, but not sure what. If anyone has any ideas, it would be great if you could pass them on. Thank you for your help.

  • What about a watch? You'd get something really nice for that much money and you could get it engraved as a memento of his day.

Hi we bought my best friends son a really chunky trendy looking silver cross and he has worn it every day as do most boys at his catholic school.
Depends how being a aspie affects him my daughter has apergers and would appriciate a cross but realise if it is more severe it may not be apropriate.

what about a book about holy commnion or bible or rosary beads.

My friend son got the dangerous book for boys too!
My dd loves her worl book of records being a child with aspergers who LOVES facts!

An encyclopaedia? Or a nicely bound copy of the Bible?

I had a photo album made on ebay witht the date, name, church etc on it,and then on the day took a lot of photos,so the child can then put them in the book. We then gave some money also as tbh they get a lot of religious things, which nice though they are,do not really appeal to kids of that age.
