im not claiming jsa..i was told i couldnt as i hadnt paid enough ni contributions...and i cant claim income support as i have a partner..my partner cant claim income support or jsa as hes a student...we are going round in circles trying to find some help..everyone says rules for students and their partners are complicated...
my partner is working really hard towards graduating this year and becoming a teacher..its just so hard financially at the moment...he says he wants to jack it all in and come home and find a job...but he only has 4 months to go

don't forget www.freecycle.org for childrens clothes, and other things such as toys.

Might be worth putting a post on www.gumtree.co.uk (there is a Brighton bit). Maybe your OH could cadge a lift with someone coming up your way of a weekend. I also don't understand why he is not getting any transport costs for his placement.

As for your outgoings I can't see how you can cut them further, so I guess having a chat with the students union welfare worker would be a plan.

What sort of work are you looking for? Bear in mind that you might be entitled to working tax credit, and help with childcare for going back to work.
Have a look on www.entitledto.co.uk to see if you would qualify for anything

Can you pm an Op callled debt doctor, he is a CAB advisor and may be able to help you get round this sort of thing.

i knew deep down i couldnt cut my outgoings..now its just trying to convince the college of this and try to apply again for a hardship fund...
the student grant is supposed to cover travel..although obviously it barely does...my partner thinks he may be able to get a partial refund on his travel but this wont be until the end ofhis placement which obviously doesnt help us now!!

im going to the job centre tomorrow...to see whats available..im not fussy..cant afford to be!!
