Stuck for a Mothers Day gift???
Well how aboout making a mini sewing kit up for your Mum.
Take one egg box and fill the comparments with a tape measure, some buttons, some needles, pins, press studs, safety pins and some black and white thread.
Decorate the outside of the box with scraps of material and ribbon and add a nice handmade tag, saying Mums Sewing Kit or Mums Emergency Sewing Kit.

princesspoppypop, that's a lovely idea, I don't have my mum or mil with me but I thought it would be good for my daughter, she moved in with her bf a bit back.
Mind you having said that I usually get all her repairs, alterations and button sewing anyway.:rotfl:
Your idea could also be another use for the retro sweet box containers you mentioned earlier.0 -
My Mum always used to alter my clothes too, but I wanted to learn myself and attempt some projects... I have found wonderweb a fantastic product for quickly turning up trousers however...Im going to make a few sewing kits up for friends and will pop some of this in...0

Lovely idea that. Also a good one for giving to kids when they leave the nest. I made sure my son had a basic first aid kit and sewing stuff when he went off to college. He'd be bound to need both at some point and often people don't think of a sewing kit for boys but there's not always going to be someone with a box of tricks to help out.Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !
