asda do an "in the night garden" cake i think its was £8.99.or if your making the cake use lots of coloured icing and make the characters out of the icing.
When you read my posts, think Barry from Auf weidersehen pet...I sound just like him ;) :rotfl:
    Boing boing baggies baggies :j
  • I can do the icing on the cake I just dont think my talent stretch as far as making the characters!

Couldn't you bake a rectangle cake and use a print and colour sheet from cbeebies asa template to cut round?
  • I made an itng cake for my daughter's 1st birthday party in January but didn't have it as a theme for the rest. At this age they don't really care about consistency after all so I'd only do a cake & maybe a couple of decorations by printing out pictures from the web if I were you.
For my daughter's cake I made a domed night sky cake (baked it in a mixing bowl for domed shape) & made a little Igglepiggle from icing standing on a bit of green iced "garden" with little icing balls as flowers.....

She loved the Igglepiggle & kept trying to grab him!

    HTH give you some ideas...

  • Thats fantastic natalie!:T I think I may have to practice with the icing before making the final cake!
  • what a lovely cake and what a good idea to make the cake in a mixing bowl..
  • How about making your own cake and buying the ITNG characters (small hard plastic ones) to put on top
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Night-Garden-Story-Box/dp/B000NLOLHY

It is quite expensive but it can also be one of her presents as my DD (18months) is alsways playing with her characters
