I have a kitchen table which has a metal frame base that is still sound but the rubbish laminated wood effect top is rubbish all peeling and chipped, could I use floorboards (old or new) to make my own top? I assume they are strong as they take our weight but would they bow? I think that decorators planks would be too thick also how would I make the seats for my chair the same way? same material? where could I get them cut as they are not squared so diy store cant help? Thanks in advance.. I am off to work now but will read replies later when I return.
