Info on Rechargable batteries

They are based in the channel islands and I have nothing but good things to say about them. I generally buy th eown brand NiMH AA batteries from them, but they do 'C' type to (2 for £2.99) and you have to add the postage on top of that.
Initial outlay is higher than buying non rechargeable's but then they only cost the price of a recharge afterwards. My personal experience is that if you get a decent rechargable they longer than standand batteries between recharges and are comparable to Alkalines. For somethings (eg digital camera's) the NiMH batteries leave alkalines standing.
Not very scientific, but just sharing my experience. If you want to check them out try . . . here0 -
Hello,
If you are looking for a crash course in batteries, Maplins website has a handy guide.

Hope this is useful.

I'll second using www.7dayshop.co.uk - also check out www.mymemory.co.uk. Haven't used 7dayshop's own brand, but mymemory's have been ok.
Don't think much of the Uniross green coloured batteries by the way, supplied with some older chargers - had quite a few fail on me. They aren't that high maH either.
As been said above, go for a high maH rating (2500 or more compares to normal batteries in my experience). I have a Uniross Sprint charger (£15.99 with 4 pretty decent Uniross AA batteries at mymemory website) and it's still going strong and charges in about an hour.
However, have read that the fast charging sometimes reduces the battery life (might be why those green uniross batteries failed so much!) so you may be better off with a normal charger and a spare set of batteries to have on charge to replace the next lot.0 -
I don't think 7 day shop batteries own brand holds much of a charge. I bought a lot of them, but Uniross seem much better.0

The ones from the pound shops are terrible too. ~1200mah.They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

I use rechargable batteries in loads of things but make sure what you're using them in is compatible as some items do say not to use rechargable batteries. HTH xxx0

Hi
I have found that Rechargables are best for those products used on a very regular basis.
We did use them for digital camera but found that if the camera wasn't used used at the weekend or every other weekend them the batteries were flat by the time we needed them.
Hope this helps

I use rechargeable batteries but I use the kind that you can charge through your USB on your computer. I got mine from Amazon. Here's list of them on Amazon and you get free postage for orders over £15:
