Halifax Overpayments

Hi Folks,
Does anyone know if its possible to get a refund of overpayments on a Halifax Mortgage Account?
I made a few overpayments to my mortgage last year, just by a couple of hundred pounds if I had the odd £50 spare I would pay it into my mortgage account.
I now find myself a little short of money at the moment and was wondering if Halifax would refund the overpayments if I asked them?
I'm going to phone them in the morning but was hoping someone might know.
Thanks for any replies

I've just taken out a Halifax mortgage, and in my paperwork it says I can underpay by the amount I've overpaid, but only whole not part payments. It doesn't say anything about taking the money back out again. I'd be interested to hear what they tell you when you ring:money:£10 a day extra in May '18[B]£35/310[

Oh right... So I could ask them not to take my direct debit payment which is due on 1st March and they will use the money I've overpaid for it, would that be correct?0

Yes that's how I understand it, as long as you have overpaid enough for them to take a complete payment. However I guess we could have different deals, so it'll be good to get the exact details for your particular mortgage. All the best with it!:j£10 a day extra in May '18[B]£35/310[

I contacted Halifax this morning and they advised me that they will collect my next direct debit on 01/04/08 instead of the 01/03/08 as there are sufficent overpayments made for the payment which was due on 01/03/08.
GREAT!! No payment until April now!! Yeah!
