Hi all.
I started my new job on Thursday - its going well, I feel valued (the £4K payrise definately helps!!) - and I have since given up my part time job. After having done two jobs for the past 2 years it definately feels strange, but I love it!!!!
This may/may not set my DFD back by a month - it depends on whether I want to live on a restricted budget until the middle November or not. I know its not far away, but part of me feels like having a bit more fun between now and then - but then again, it would mean my final debt repayment is the middle of Dec, whereas I could really use Dec's payday for Christmas etc... Hmmm.!!
Still, I have my holiday in 6 weeks (paid for already) and am really looking forward to that - it will be a well deserved break!!
I havent spent an awful lot recently, my old employer gave me Next vouchers for a leaving pressie, but I cant even bring myself around to spending them (because im so used to being careful!!). HELP!! :0)
How are you getting on?

Well done. You have certainly turned yourself around and good luck for the future. You have to be careful though not to go overboard with the credit crunching where you become as much of a scrooge as me. We all still need to get out there sometimes and enjoy ourselves.
Congrats.0 -
If you wanted you can sell your next vouchers on Ebay and get pretty close to the residual price of them. Give you greater freedom rather than just shopping at Next.0

Hiya Ms_london
Gald to hear the jobs going so well and that u have managed to give up your second job. i still havent heard from that job i was telling u about. apparently its been one big admin !!!!-up literally at there end which may mean i dont here about it until the end of August
But im so pleased things are going well for u. I would keep your self ona budget until november and get everything paid off, as come December you can go out and party!!! :T  :T  :T  :jSavings Total so far for 2023: £8,062.580 -
Yes, be careful with that budget....not long now until DFD. Don't forget that the holiday is something lovely to look forward to and if it all seems too much when you come back....well, go on a spending spree for free in Next! It would be a shame to delay your DFD and it would have a knock-on effect on Christmas.............do not blow it now......the darkest hour is just before dawn and all that!! The last mile is the hardest!!:snow_grin"Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow........":snow_grin0

Well Done Ms_london. You are an inspiration to us all.
When the going gets tough for me I think about how it must feel to be totally debt free. I also re read some of your posts. :T
I would try to stick to your DFD, but I would also spend the vouchers on yourself perhaps for your holiday?
Good Luck in everything you do :T

Id sugest spending the next vouchers for the next sale, as they normally have a good amount of reductions
if my memory is right, the next sale should be starting this weekend0 -
The Next sale starts at 6am on Saturday at our nearest store.
I'm going to be there to try and get a new suit plus shirts for my new job.0
