littlewoods catalogue debts

Hi.. new here

My daughter has a debt with littlewoods catalogue. which is with someone called NDR.. the CAB have written to them twice, but when she rings, they say they have not recieved anything from the CAB, and try to bully her into paying £100 very two weeks.. when she only recives £46.85 dole money.. and lives alone, so pays her water rates food gas electricity ect.and as you can imagine she has no money left..the CAB sent sheets with her income details on and outgoings..she is paying a token amount of £1 per month to her debters all three...one has accepted it..but NDR are taking her payments then charging her a £12 fee.. and £5.50 in administration...

So would it be better to go to court CCJ route.. and get the judge to stop these people from causing more debt???? ie ask for the debt to be frozen

Thanks in advance..

    Hi

Sorry to hear about the bullying tactics your daughter has been experiencing. I can't really suggest more than you've already done - I'm sure someone will have more experience. What have the CAB said about all this?

I have dealt with Littlewoods and they do accept lower payments.

Personally I would nip to CAB or if you have copies of the letters photocopy one and send it again recorded delivery and see what happens. She must keep sending the £1 each month even if they have not accepted. Once you know they have received the letter which you will be able to prove she can then send a much sterner letter and ask for some of the money back, may not get it but if you don't ask you don't get.

1st things 1st here. Your daughter should write to NDR ( which is littlewoods in house debt colection agency) asking them to provide a copy of a signed credit agreement. this is her right under the Consumer Credit Act. She should send a fee of £1 and state she does not admit a debt to this company. I will bet you a pound to a penny Littlewoods can't provide a copy of a signed credit agrrement. (They never can) If that is the case then the debt is unenforceable and your daughter should refuse to pay.

They chose to be bulies so they have to reap what they sow. if you need it i can let you have a copy of a letter i use ( which i cant take credit for as i nicked it from others on this board)

Thanks... for the advice.i will try them again, and see what they say this time..i think we have copies of the sheets the CAB sent them..
  • I have heard that you can go down the court route yourself and get the debt frozen, but i think the cab will be better able to advise.

  • I am an ex-employee of littlewoods and I can confirm that the chances of them having a CCA is very unlikely, they will send out a blank one if you ask for a copy of the original. Littlewoods and Everyday financial services are classed as the same sometimes and different other times so I would also write to the Liverpool, Aintree address as well as the customer service centres which is the Liverpool Crosby address

It seems littlewoods have finally comes to their senses, and grudging agreed to the payments...
