I am having trouble with my Halifax credit card, no sh** I hear you say!
I got started on a DMP over a year ago by myself with the help of the CCCS, after a year the Halifax said they only did them for 1 year and wanted me to get my account up to date, so I got back in touch with the CCCS who arranged another DMP starting last sept, but the Halifax keep putting on the interest AND a late fee which is unfar as I have never missed a payment and now they say they are selling it to a DCA (not their words) and a friend of mine has said they will help me out and I wanted to know what amount they would accept on a £9500 debt as I know that the DCA buys it at a reduced rate?
Also my brother is in debt with the Lloyed bank and hasn't paid them since xmas as after 6 months they wouldn't accept any more reduced payments should he contact the CCCS or some one else??
Many thanks, I am soooo glad that I found this site, I was really low at the beginning of the week but it has really lifted my spirits:j

Wait until the DCA contact you . Only contact them my letter , never by phone . Request a CCA and a notice of Assignment . Read other posts on details of why and how to do this . good luck0

Thanks Stapeley,
I will try and find some info about this, so I gather that it it best NOT to talk to Halifax before they pass on the debt?Feb 2008= £29,149.97 debt:embarasse
