HSBC managed loan issue ?

So I've recently set up a standing order for my hsbc managed loan account i pay £150 from my bank account to my managed loan account
The standing order i started in januray, it seems januarys payment went through without a problem.
But the payment i made on the 5th of february has not been received it seems,I received a letter from hsbc on the 7th saying that my standing order had not been made , even though my internet banking account (and my hard copy summary) shows the £150 leaving my account, the standing order has my account number my name and my reference number on it

I called hsbc on the 11th of feb to check they had got it they said no, i told them about it coming out of my account and double checked i had the right account number they said they didnt have it but could i pay the £150 to bring my account up to date

Not on your nelly i proclaimed at least not untill i locate where my £150 payment has gone, they said they couldnt help me and that i would need to take my bank statement confirmation into my local branch along with the letter i recived on the 7th staying my standing order hadnt been made

Does this sound right to you ? - I'm wondering whether to phone them up today just to check that there wasn't a delay in it going in

ok i would think a standing order could take 3 days to reach them, unless you also bank with them. But they have probably got your money in a suspense account accruing interest whilst you're here panicking. Going into your branch is a good idea, unless you have telephone banking in which case i'd ring up and ask where the money went to in respect of your bank account.

good luck and stick to your guns, it's not unusual for banks to do this, they often did it when i was in control of the banking in a company i worked for.

I would deffo just go to the branch.

HSBC are useless, especially the call centers (in my experience).

At least then you would have the peace of mind, and HSBC would then need to locate the £150 at least.
