As spakekr said go to control panel, regional and language settings, and set everything to English United Kingdom.

How old is your PC as the errors you are getting could be caused by a failing hard disc. If that's the case they're relatively cheap to buy and easy to fit and you know how to re-install windows.
It's my problem, it's my problem

And it's my problem if I have no friends

Do you mean a hard drive? BillScarab...if so I think that is a bit techie for me...I could just about install windows...when I did it i messed it up and had 2 operating systems on there, I had to have help from the DELL technical support team and pay them for it!

    hard disc = hard drive.

If it is the casue then replacement is very easy, take the side off, unplug the old drive and remove it. Put in the new one and plug it in, put the side back on and install windows.

However if you'r not happy doing it that's fair enough. You need to find out if that's actually the issue anyway first.
