Stuck. Need Help quickly!!!

Are finally starting to see a bit of light at the end of the debt tunnel, tho things are still a bit tight. Credit rating is BAD, but are working hard at rebuilding. BUT, car has now been has now been condemmed and will not make it through the MOT in 3 weeks time. I work nights and cannot get public transport home when I finish at 10pm. Need to replace that car quickly. Where or how can I get £500 on a bad credit rating? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks. ???

    Hi Blondie,

You could approach Yes Car Credit. The credit rating I have is dreadful but they agreed to a car for me. The interest rate is very high though but thats understandable when lending to sub-prime clients.

Not sure how to do links but any search engine will help.

    Best wishes

  • Thanks for the reply Martin.
Checked thme out and the lowest ammount the lend is £1000 on £29 per week!!!! I only want a principle ammount of £500, but as funds are already stretched, cant spare much each month.
Have thought about approaching the local Credit Union. Does anyone have any thoughts on this ???
  • THe Credit Union is I think a self help type of operation.
You have to first save with them and thus help others out before you get to be helped out yousrelf.

How far are you from work?

If you add up the costs of car ownership, it is usually your biggest outgoing after rent/mortgage.

You may find (short term) you are better off getting a private cab back from work, rather than paying insurance, tax, repairs and petrol on a car.

The only alternative seems to be a really nasty interest rate on a loan unless you can get an existing lender to extend your facility. Do you have any friends or family who could help short term?

    Good Luck

Smile :), it makes people wonder what you have been up to.
  • Work is the other side of the City, about 20-25 mins by car. We also need transport to attend Trade Fairs at weekends as part of my husbands job. These are usually between 20 to 50 miles from home. These fairs are an essential part of his job as he picks up and drops off work in this way. We attend 2 or 3 of these a month.
So cabbing isnt really an option. Thanks for the suggestion tho.
    Cheers.
Oh, by the way, husband is self employed. He gets paid mostly with cheques, and as I get paid monthly, cashflow is a real problem.
