Virgin wouldn't accept my Tesco clubcard deals tokens

Will some kind soul please explain if I have been told the correct information by Tesco deals and Virgin holidays people.
I recently exchanged my vouchers for £1,500 of clubcard deals tokens but didn't know at the time which holiday comapny we wanted to book with for definite so the clubcard rep told me that it didn't matter as the tokens can be used to book any holiday in the scheme. They sent me the tokens out as Cosmos and have a S6022 code on them which appears to relate to Cosmos holidays brochures. Anyway, we decided to book with Virgin and use the tokens with them instead but was told that they are specifically for Cosmos holidays only (S6022) and would have to get then exchanged (even talked to supervisor as there was only 4 seats left on particular flight.)
Does anyone know for sure what the rules are? I read the Tesco clubcard t's & c's but nothing is mentioned.
I will talk with Tesco tomorrow but thought someone here might know. The kids are really annoyed with me as this is to book a Florida holiday !

Sorry, but I think they are specific to the holiday company - perhaps you could ring Tesco and explain you were misinformed?

As far as I was aware it didn't matter which holiday company they were for they just had to be named - when I booked my Cosmos hol a few weeks ago I used some Goldsmith ones and there wasn't a problem. I would just book it and not mention the code just send them in.

As far as I am aware as long as Virgin comes under the S codes then there should not be any problem.
I had some vouchers to use in a hotel (S code) and was able to use them at Goldsmiths instead.

Funny enough I queried this this week with Tesco as I had ordered Virgin vouchers but wanted to use them with Cosmos. Tesco told me by email that it was fine to use them for Cosmos and indeed the paperwork they sent with the clubcard vouchers stated that they could be used for any deal that does not have the "pay in full" logo.
