Credit Card letter to reduce payments

I've got 2 outstanding credit card debts each of £4,000 .. I've tried phoning them and asking them for a reduction in interest rates, due to me being a loyal paying customer, never having defaulted on a payment ... and they point blank said no. For my audacity apparently, Egg actually wrote to me a few weeks later saying they were putting my interest up to 19%!! I now am sruggling the make the payments, and am wondering how I can word a letter to them asking them if I can reduce my payments for a few months until my finances improve a little. Is there a template letter anywhere that gives me an idea of what to say?? Thanks for your help ...;)

If you can't afford the minimum payments, I think you should talk to the CAB, CCCS or Payplan.

You may wish to post a SoA to see if you finances can be juggled to allow you to make the minimum repayments.
