A bit of a bump for you but until someone that knows the complete answer comes along....
I am no expert but from what I understand from people with similar situations that have posted threads, these guys won't be bayliffs, they can turn up but you have absolutely no need to open the door or let them in and they certainly can't sieze goods. I think they sound like they are chancing their arm. The debt is in dispute so they shouldn't be trying bully boy tactics with you. Have you told them you will only deal with them in writing yet??? If not there are template letters on here although you might want to tailor them to include a reminder of how in dispute the debt is (and, of course, also remind them that you do not acknowledge the debt, they do seem to have *forgotten*)
If they do show politely tell them that the debt that they believe exists is in dispute and that CAB and TS are looking into it and that you do not acknowledge that you owe them any money (if they are persistent ask them to leave)£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

Before we go any further, the fact that the debt is more than 6 years old does not make it statute barred, unless, it is more than 6 years since you LAST PAID or ACKNOWLEDGED the debt in writing.
Does it still qualify?Got advice from citizens advice and have got trading standards involved....But still the debt collection company are sending me letters. Have you sent them a statute barred letter. Until you do so they are entitled to ask you to pay. They are breaking OFT Guidelines but hey.. who cares about them?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
This is OPs previous thread

I had been thinking this was the same debt, although original thread said 1998 for date of last contact so this may well be a different debt. (mtgibbo please can you clarify)£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

Yes the same debt0

Yes i have sent them a statue barred letter last Oct 2007. And no contact or payment was made between 1999 when the debt was created up until May 2007 when they then demanded payment.0

thanks.
I assume there is no CCJ against it?
Will find the complaints list.
Which DCA is this by the way?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
OK
Write to all these. If the OFT will not take the direct complaint, then get one of the debt chrities to report them
And make sure you contact the TS where the DCa is based, as they licence them, not your local TS.
