Hiya sorry if this is in the wrong section this is gonna be a long one.
I have been having phone calls for about 8/9 months from Halifax collections department wanting to get hold of someone i have never heard of this person, they rang me 8 - 10 times a day from 8am-9pm they drove me potty as they wouldnt take no for an answer they got nasty even one called me a B**ch.
After searching on the net i found loads of other people have been having the same problem with halifax and i eventually got hold of customer services dept and bugged them everyday for a week to take my number off their system the calls have now stopped. In the same week i rang the financial ombudsman it was around xmas time, he said they would send me a claim form which i never got.
Last month i received a letter from Halifax saying they was looking into this matter about the phone calls and would get back to me, last friday i received another letter from them saying they couldnt find my number on their system they made me out as a lier i rang the person who sent me the letter i explained what had happened and as a gesture of goodwill they would give me £25.00 i said no thanks with all the phone calls i was getting it was like they were bulling me as it got to the stage where i didnt want to answer the phone, the halifax man rang me yesterday to say they have only found records from their archive logs for the total of 22 phone calls from them over a 12 month period more like 22 phone calls in 2 days i was getting, anyways the halifax then up the offer of goodwill gesture to £50 he said if i was unhappy about this to go thru the ombudsman.
Should i accept the offer of £50 or go thru the ombudsman with this.

Did you keep a written log of these phones calls? I mean, the date and times of all, or a majority of, these calls? This may help in any investigation by a 3rd party."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

No i didnt, didnt think of doing that for all the them months, i only really flipped when i got a phone call at 8am on a saturday the day after works xmas 'do' after that i was determined to find a phone number to sort it all out.
Will be wiser if anything like this happens again0 -
To be honest I doubt you will get a better offer, considering you didn't keep a log. I'd accept the £50.0
