Me, M.E and debt!

Hi all great site learning lots.
Im seeking advice on a complex situation , well you all might see it simpler but its complicated to me!
In 2003 i had an accident in which i cracked my skull open (nice huh) i was diagnosed as having post concussion syndrome which was later diagnosed as triggering M.E which stopped me from working.
At that time i found it very difficult to concentrate.
With the help of my Aunt i claimed my Barclaycard insurance however as i was ill I didnt account for everything and i missed claiming my egg card.
In 2006 slightly recovered i attempted to sort finances out and realized the egg card needed dealing with. I contacted egg to ask for a claim form, I was told that as the claim was too far in the past so i couldn't claim.
Looking again at my finances now I realize that even after having contacted egg to cliam due to my illness I am still paying insurance!
As i have never received a penny from the insurance and i am still paying it now and barely managing to pay the interest on the card what should i do. I'm at £4800 and its not getting any smaller.
I would really appreciate some help while i have a moment of clarity

Sorry I don't have any real useful advice, just wanted to offer a bit of sympathy as a fellow ME sufferer. I used to be able to think straight before I was ill (17 years now and counting!) but now I have to really concentrate to get anything done.
Hope you manage to get some good advice.Mortgage Free as of 03/07/2017 :beer:0 -
Hi I also have Me and other health issues which I am unable to work, someone will be along shortly who will be able to advise you on what to do.
Best wishes

Not sure if this is correct but if it's insurance you have been paying can you not claim it ( the insurance ) back?0

I was just wondering if there was an M.E. Support Group in your area, that could offer assistance in getting your Insurance money back for you...BOI Credit Card = Was £3500.00 Now £0.00
GE Capital Store Card= Was £1800.00 Now £0.00
GE Capital Store Card = Was 1300.00 Now £0.00

Not great on the advice front but saying hello from another ME survivor!! Diagnosed 11 years ago, now well enough to work and about to try and get on top of my finances!!!!
I would approach your local ME support group first although I am sure you should get some great advice on here.0
