    cheers,
has anyone had the £299 added to the mortgage, and if so - did it appear instantly online with the outstanding mortgage balance, or was it added at a later date.
im asking because im hoping my mortgage balance will appear online tomorrow, and i opted for it to be added to the mortgage.

i notice some of you had the fee debited after the mortgage was opened from your first account, how long after did they take it.

    cheers..........al

That's exactly what happened to me last Friday, they called in the morning and said I'd get a text that afternoon. I didn't and called but it was all ok. My Account was online on Saturday but didn't show the fee but it was posted to the account on Monday.
I think your next payment will be May. I was told you get 21 days from statement to payment . Our payment date is 25th month and they've confirmed out first payment will be 25th May

Jemm, I too think you son should pursue it. One thing I have found with FD is if they do make a mistake they seem to hold their hands up. My friend had a problem changing her cheque book when she got married (took 4 attempts to finally get on in her new name) and when they did get it right they sent her a box of chocs and a bottle of wine by way of an apology

I shall try again with him - may suggest he send a secure mesage from his account.

I sent away my forms over 2 weeks ago for my remortgage and I still have not heard a thing:confused::confused:

Can someone please tell me at what stage is it agreed when the new mortgage takes over my current mortgage? im worried incase it kicks in when im still due to pay my early repayment charge. Im pretty sure this wasnt on the form!!

i would phone them up, it all depends on how far they have got with your application?????
and when your current mortgage deal expires etc.
the f.d mortgage has a reservation period of 6 months anyway so as long as your current deal expires within this timescale you will be ok.
check out my timeline for a rough guideline of how long mine has taken.

Well my son is now the proud owner of his frist home - the purchase has been completed and he is collecting his keys over lunch and going around for a look.

His standing order has reached his 1st Account and has cancelled out the outstanding arrangement fee. As it would only be a maximum of £49 overdraft at 12.9% AER he says it's not worth arguing over the fee being taken from the wrong place as it would only amount to about 6p in interest.
  • Hi, just a quick pop back and glad to see that everyone has (mostly) completed except for the newbies. :j Just a quick update from me (although I am no longer with FD), got my new mortgage offer from IF yesterday and will be in the solicitor's office today or tomorrow to sign it. So a relatively quick process of only 3 weeks since I submitted my application. Now waiting for completion on 30th Apr and hopefully it will be smooth.

Hope this thread has proven useful to many pple and best of luck for the future!!!

Yes, if it helps at all our mortgage appeared on line at the amt requested then 3 or 4 days later the 299 fee appeared.

Also if it helps anyone I had to claim back legal fees for remortgage in Scotland, sent the letter off and after 10 days got a phone call to say they had the letter and the money would be in the a/c that day......1st class service so far :T :T
