My son received his offer 8 days ago but hasn't received the legal docs yet. he was told last Tuesday that they wouldn't be sent out till beginning of next week.
THANKS JEM,
my legal docs seem to be at the checking stage before they are sent to me.
i received the offer over 2 weeks ago now, i will have to chase this up as i am keen for it to be completed a.s.a.p.
because my fixed rate period has finished with my current lender and i am paying the standard variable rate untill its completed with f.d.
im just concerned because people seem to have received the legal docs a lot quicker than me.0 -
p.s, how do you do the link with the timeline please ?????0

Hi
It was a week from the correct offer but I had received one already that had a typo and had to be re issued. I think maybe that offer was the one that set the legal stuff rolling in which case it was just over 2 weeks.
Hope my timeline
helps and you get yours soon
cheers, mrsm.
just looked at your timeline, i sent my form to f.d on 14th feb, and you sent yours on 19th feb.
hopefully i will receive the legal docs this week ?????????
i will let you all know...........thanks for the info, hope all goes well everyone !0 -
p.s, how do you do the link with the timeline please ?????
Go to your post with the original timeline. Click on the post number which opens that specific post in a new window. Copy the url from that post.
Then when you are writing a new post, wirite the word "timeline" and then highlight it - then click on the hyperlink symbol (Insert link - looks like a world with a paper chain). That will open a new window. Paste the url which you copied and click ok.0 -
As an existing FD customer I obviously had a quicker experience. No statements or P60's required.
Due to low LTV (40%) we had a mortgage offer on the phone.
The paperwork and valuation was all very quick.
The best part was my previous deal with tie ins ended on Fri 14th Mar and on Mon 17th Mar the funds had been swapped.
Offsetting at present and thoroughly impressed with FD as ever.:beer:0 -

thats great, things were moving really quickly for me at first, but i feel its slowed down somewhat now, the legal docs seem to be taking forever to arrive - i am hoping they will arrive this week.
i too have a low LTV , so there should no problems, i guess they are busy.0 -
i rang first direct today, they said the legal docs were being sent out today and i should receive them tomorrow.
question for mrsm ? for those of you that are remortgaging - what do the legal docs consist of, and is there anything i should pay attention to before signing and returning them, also is it a large document (many pages)?
cheers............0 -
not a big document at all, about 2 pgs plus one to sign (i says to be witnessed by solicitor, legal advisor or hsbc bank official but i was told, and the accompanying letter states, it just needs to be witnessed by someone who is not mentioned on mortgage nor a family member)
Can't see anything to look out for, although it does warn that obviously they can sell your house if you don't keep payments but also that any future debts, loans overdrafts etc0 -
many thanks MRSM
hows yours going, im just wondering how long it will take for completion once i sign and return the legal docs?
p.s, theyve just taken the £99 valuation fee today from my card, so im presuming they take this when they send the legal docs??????
