Hi all,
Well, I'm jumping on the diary bandwagon... mainly because I need somewhere to vent. I started reading dfw forum about a year ago now (scary) and it's been so much help. Reading all the tips and especially joining in with all the challenges, I've never actually managed to reach a challenge goal but at least I'm motivated to get out there and knock some extra money of my debt and every little helps :j
Ok, so firstly I suppose I should post a SOA so you know what I'm up against.

Well, that's where I am atm. I'm also a frequent lister on eBay and Amazon to get some extra cash and I use Quidco and Pigsback every day. I'm currently looking into getting a new job as the 4 weekly pay really messes with my bill paying and I never know where I am with it.
I'm also currentl doing 3 challenges (I love challenges for motivation) Clear a debt by April'08 which I don't have a hope of, The olympic challenge which I'm quietly optomistic about and my personal clear half my debt by the end of '08 challenge which I'd love to be able to do.
Well that's it for my intro. I'll try to update at lest once a month but untill then if you think you know a way to make my debt vanish in a puff of smoke please feel free to enlighten me!! :rotfl:

Oh No!!!!
Well since Christmas I've been struggling to keep my head above water. I went to see my sister in Canada at Christmas and unfortunatly she's dreadfull at encouraging me to spend my money
When I got home I thought I was fine but then a load of things I'd bought in Canada magically appeared on my bank statment
Last month I go by, by asking my OH to advance me his houskeeping money but of course now it's got to the same time this month and I'm down £200!
He doesn't have the extra money this month
and even if he did I don't want to be in the same situation next month... I'm affraid there's nothing for it, I'm just going to have to get £200 off of a credit card. I'm thinking I should get it off of my Lloyds card as there's more chance I'll get to pay that off soon but it means there's no chance I'll make even half of my clear a debt by April challenge as it'll put me nearly back where I started
Damb the Christmas holiday and its bright shiny stuff that screams out "buy me, buy me"!!!0 -

Bank Charges - £26 - What are the bank charges for?
Food Shopping - £130 - How many are you feeding?
Gas & Electric - £30 - Have you shopped around to see if this is the cheapest, if not, do so & use quidco to change so you get cash back.
Water - £10
Critical Illness Insurance - £17 Do you really need this? I have found that these policies are quite restrictive & even if you were to get what you deem to be a critical illness, they may not consider it one & won't pay out.
Unemployment Insurance - £20 Is your job secure? Do you need this? Does it pay out as soon as you are made unemployed or do you have to wait?
Contents Insurance - £13
Council Tax - £85 Is this spread over 12 months?
Sky (TV, Phone,Internet) - £35 Can you reduce this?
BT Line - £11
TV Licence - £12
Mobile Phone - £25 (Contract to be cancelled Sep'08) Is that the minimum payment or do you go over your useage allowance?
Lotto - £4 (Coz you never know

Archery Club - £15
Medieval club varies but can be between - £20 to £100 depending on the time of year.
Total - £55 to £135 Seems quite high, anything you can cut back on? Maybe giving one of the clubs a miss until you have you head above water again?

Hi I want to be free, I've made replies to you on the above in pink
I've had a magor set back today  my 0% loan has been called in so I've had to consolodate and since my credit isn't that grate atm I ended up going with my bank at a ridicules 14.3% I'm gonna pay this off with a cheaper loan next year if I can but in the mean time I've consolodated everything into one giving me a wopping loan of £15,334  to be payed at £352.68 Per month. Really annoying but I had no choice I had to get the loan quick
Oh well, theoretically my loan is 5 years but I intend to save up seperately and pay off my loan early is possible.

are you still with your other half..?? because if you are is £200 housekeeping a month enought - surely a more even split would be fairer - sorry if i have missed something because i will admit to being a skimmer rather than a reader - well it is lateolympic challenge starting 7/1/07:j0

Yes I am but it's my house and he is on low income with his own £15,000 debt to worry about. His houskeeping is so low because that is all he can affort to contribute at the moment.0
