Prepared next week's items to post according to the paper schedule and added my Smarts. Just logged on to register the items as prepared for posting, and they apparently now don't need Smarts :o If I open the envelopes and take the Smarts out, will it look like the postie tried to tamper with them?

Off to try and steam them open now cos the Smarts I included are now showing as 'Return to RI'

Never had this happen before - do you think they are trying to trick us?!:D

The lesson here is always check the online posting plan before preparing;)

They seem to have just added this to there site, as i've not noticed it before. I think the lesson here is not to seal the envelopes till the last minute, but i wonder if theres a problem there end. Seems an odd thing to do and must be really annoying izzy.

    "Non Smart" items:

If your Paper Posting Schedule is asking you to add a SMART to a test item (for Posting), but the On-line Schedule indicates the item to be a non-SMART item, please follow the On-line schedule and send without a SMART, as the on-line schedule will be the most up to date.

No, they are not trying to trick you. There are several reasons why smarts are to be returned to RI, one is there are a limited number of smarts to go round, you may have too many smarts in your stock, ( I had 8 in my stock) and had to return 5 of them. :D

There seems to be differing opinion re: returning magazines so I'd emailed them to ask if we can keep ours. Fiancee sometimes buys Good Food so she'll be happy if we can keep it!!

At present she only has a few days to read it and copy any useful recipes :p

Mmm... I've had to return Smarts before and I'm fine with that. Just annoyed me that I put the Smarts in as per the paper schedule, then later went on line to register them as prepared and allocate my Smarts to them and they didn't need Smarts according to the online schedule. Now it looks like someone tampered with my envelopes where I steamed them opened and glued them back down :D . Hopefully someone from this thread will be the lucky recipient and be understanding of why they now look like my dog chewed the backs of them!!:o

As brenda_p_a says, the lesson for me is to check the online plan before preparing - will teach me to try and get ahead of myself and be organised.:D :D:D

Not complaining though really. I've been doing the survey for a few months though and I'm enjoying it. I got the RNLI stamps which are a nice bonus. Bit jealous of your working dogs stamps though WEEGIE ;)

  • Arh that could explain why i've had two recently that have been a mess and look like they've been tampered with.
I thought it was odd, after doing this for many months i've never had anything that looks tampered with, then i get two within a week
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(
