Help Needed " WORRIED SICK "

Hi all,

I sold my house to a friend about 15 months ago and moved back in with parents, with my nice profit i paid off all my credit cards and debts.

My friend now rents out my old house as he deals in letting property.

He contacted me today and told me a bailliff had been to my old house looking for me, so i called all utility companys and council tax to check i never owed anything as i was sure i paid evertything after my move.

All the companies i called told my i owe them no money, ha council tax actually owed me £100.

So now i am worried what they can be calling for. My friend has contacted his tenant to see what the bailiff said but they would not reveal any info to him once they new i had moved.

I am now worried that they will come knocking at my parents house and try to take goods.
I am also worried that these bailliffs will be adding costs on to what they think i owe them.
How can i find out who the bailiffs are and why they want me???

please can someone advise me as i am worried sick

Thanks

  • Hi hun, are you sure this was a bailiff. Have you checked your credit file recently. That should show something if you do owe any money. HAve you had a parking ticket or parking fine. Did the your friends tenant let them know where you are living right now. Please dont be too worried about this. This can be sorted and you have come to the right place.

Hi there thanks for ur reply.

yes i checked my credit file as soon as i got home from work and nothing on there that i am not aware of i.e my current credit card(never missed a payment, there was a footprint that gb group plc(ID CHECK) had checked my file on 7th feb 08 and yesterday and i don't drive so can't be parking ticket ( i did wonder if someone has given in my details if they had got one tho ) and the tenant said to my friend that they were definately bailiffs, he never told them were i now live, i asked my friend to give them my phone number if they call again.
i can't help but worry i have been thinking about it all day
