Please HELP ...anybody?

:mad: Job Help Needed ASAP!!
Hi there i am writing this for a friend he is a uk resident for three years and has 3 years experince working in shop, he was very badly treated there eg, over 80hrs of work per week for only£120.00, no breaks,days off etc-when he realised his rights and asked for ateast one day off in the week he was sacked!!! He is currently looking for a Full time job and finding it Hard as he has very little written english skills BUT his spoken english is Very good!

He want a Full time job in a factor or warehouse in the Greater Manchester Area he has passed his driving and also has a full uk licence, he is not fussy about shifts and doesnt mind soing nights/weekends etc as long as he is atleast getting minimum wage...Can anyone help us find him a job or an agency that specialises in factory/warehouse jobs eg packer,Production line operative etc.


ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.THANKS

    First of all, he should get in contact with someone in Labour Relations with regards his previous job, he was seriously shafted if those figures are correct.

    On the second question - probably best just trying out local recruitment agencies - the much maligned Jobcentre is also a decent port of call.

    I am thinking that the shop job was not above board in anyway? Report em, I would. It's totally disgracful treating people in that manner. Sounds like they will do it again and again until someone stops them.

    As for the job- can't help you there I am afraid. Guess you could phone around all the warehouses listed in the phone book?

    If he wants to try other jobs, then pub work/restaurant might suit him - although beware the working over 40 hours a week in some of them. He should get paid by the hour though, so it could be to his benefit.

    By law you should sign an exemption of rights (I think it is?) saying that you agree to work over 40 hours a week. Just keep that in mind.
