Anyone able to help at all??

Hi there;
I posted on here quite a lot recently but haven't done for a few weeks.

I'm beginning to feel really really scared about my debt (it's not just what's in my sig unfortunatley; I'm waiting on finding final amounts for some student stuff that I didn't know I owed until about four weeks ago; but the agencies are talking amongst themselves to decide who and what I owe what to; as they said a 'clerical error' resulted in my forwarding address not being used even though they had it, and admit that!!)

I'm just feeling so horrifically stupid; sad; down and upset about the whole thing. It's only the 11th of the month and I feel everything has slipped again. I'm so scared of everything; the debt; of life; of facing it; that I'm hiding away from all the support here.

I know I need to do a spending diary but can't seem to kick self into gear to do it. It's total procrastination; I hate feeling this way but I'm terrified to do anything about it. I'm an idiot.

I want to do a new SOA but I don't want to bother until they get back to me.

Hey there.. try not to worry x

I don't know what to suggest without seeing any income or outgoings. All I can say is that if you get through the tough times now, then the future will seem much brighter with the debt behind you. I'm sure you know that though. x

You're not an idiot... there are lots of people in your position. I went bankrupt last year and I have always worked in the financial services.. I truly am an idiot! haha - but I don't mind.. I am learning a very hard lesson and it will do me good in the long run.

    Chin up x

  • Hi Always Amazed,

I'm really rather new to this too but have been a bit of a lurker. I know exactly how you feel!!! I go through the same thing that I feel physically sick to even open some of my bills (although I always do open them). Atleast you have admitted to your problem and making steps to fix that by even checking this place out!!! Lots of ppl are just burying their problems further but you are prepared to face up to them! Now I don't feel like I am the best person to give you ADVICE right now but my OH is very supportive and has had to listen to me whine/moan/cry many many times as I freak out! :/ You just have to take it one day at a time and as he keeps saying You can't clear your debts in a day or a week, it takes the long haul!!! Maintain making payments, do a spending diary (I just started and it's very addictive, can't wait to go on and make ammendments hee hee). Get it ALL written out and then the more professional debt busters on here can help!!!

We are all here because we are in the same boat so don't dispair!

    Amber x

hi always amazed as has been said before you did the hard bit joining the site and facing up to your original debt, this is just a stip back, another challenge for you to face and sure you'll be able to do it with zeal. Just jump back on board and get a head start for when they finally sort out the numbers.
Good luck and hang in there.
  • Hi - just wanted to wish you luck. If starting a spending diary seems like hard work - just get any old piece of paper and write it down. You'll soon start to feel a little better - just because you are doing something about it. Try not to worry too much. I know that's easy to say but I've been reading posts on here for a while now. Some things will make you laugh. Some things will make you cry. But through it all you will find some fantastic people on this site who are willing to help others when they ask.
    Good luck.
  • Hi AA,

    Hi AA!

Hope you're feeling a bit better today. You're not any sort of idiot at all. You've slipped up a bit. We all do.

I think it's in somebody's sig here that Failure isn't falling, it's staying down. And that's true.

Or you could take a leaf out of my mum's book... She had such a lot of troubles - ill health, on own dealing with disabled child during war, widowed and me only 11 etc (not debt - don't know where I get that from!). Anyway, someone once said "I don't know how you keep going" and her answer was "I keep going to see just what the Bl***y H*ll can happen next!!" During especially cr*ppy times, I often think of that!

  • hey there!
So sorry didn't reply earlier; was away visiting family.
Thank you so much for your replies; they have really given me the virtual hug I needed; and the reassurance I was and am doing something right.
I'm off to check up the freebies board and then I'm working until Wednesday so will get back into posting then!! (Or maybe when I'm at work :o )
