                    Hello folks,
I need advice with a Job Application form please.
I left school in 1987 and had various jobs till 1993. I then went back to college and qualified in 1995 as a Hairdresser. I started a family at the same time and thought this would be ideal to work mobile part-time whilst having a family. Now have three kids and have decided to get back to work. I have been a single parent since 2005 and want to get back to work for social and financial reasons.
The Job is an Admin job term-time so perfect. I need advice with what to put in the previous employment part as I can't remember exact dates (all a bit hazy now).
There is also a section that is ......Reasons for Application and Supporting Evidence.........in this part I am hoping to include the skills I have learned as a Mother. I can work a PC and even helped run my sons football team website for a while. My son has ADHD and so am used to running routines and managing time with military precision. Anymore advice ?
Sorry for rambling on but am a bit excited about this job.......I am starting to worry about adding Jeremy Kyle to the programme planner.....at this rate I shall be including him in my circle of friends :rotfl:
I had hoped the Job Centre Plus would be able to help me with this......I wasted £1.30 on parking this morning to be told they dont deal with that sort of thing there !! Goodness how the Job Centre has changed since 1993........i feel like the woman from Ashes to Ashes.....where's Gene when ya need him :rotfl:
Cheers for listening

hello nina, if you look back at some previous posts on this subject you'll get ideas on what to put on the form. Previous employment, I would now have to work it out along the lines of "DS1 was born in July, so I must have finished that job in April, and I know I started that one when when DS2 was about 6 months old ..." - would that help you get things to within a month or two of accuracy?
By all means list skills gained outside 'regular' employment. The key thing is to demonstrate on the application how you match the job description and person spec. Best of luck, and don't be down-hearted if you don't get this one: termtime jobs are VERY popular!Signature removed for peace of mind0

            Hi Nina
Alot of people dont realise how many skills they have, You could maybe use words like Can work well as part of ateam or on own inititive, Multi tasking, good communication skills, working to deadlines, data input, updating accurate records via data input and writen, organisational skills and list any qulifications you may have in computers ie word, excel, spreedsheet ect link any of these with your experiance and when you was unemployed maybe use Domestic Engineer0
