Washing The Floor

Options
Hello OS. Its nice to be back here. There are a lot of new names so I hope to be able to say hello and help in due course.

Right now though I need your help please.

I have hurt my back and need to wash the kitchen floor. That in itself is ok. But I have my cat attached to my ankle as she won't go outside. When she does go out she sits and cries. So any ideas on how to detach cat from my ankle and possibly the mop so I can actually get on with doing the floor?

Also there seems to be sticky stuff on the floor and tips for getting this up easily as I dont want to have to scrub it.

Thank you people.

Try a squirt of neat Stardrops on top of the sticky stuff and leave it for a while before washing.

You could try wearing earphones so you can't hear the cat crying - hopefully your floor washing will not take too long and then she can come in again

With cats its amazing how butter on paws, tuna juice on paws etc will give them something else to think about.

BTW our vets do the most amazing hi grade Afghani catnip that gets our cats so high it makes Amy Winehouse look like a methodist preacher. That is a great distraction, and will get them to flip out and then sleep it off. I keep it for emergencies. It may not help in the short term, but worth considering stocking up.
    Always another chapter

  • Thanks for the ideas. I gave up fighting in then end and used the cat to dry the floor with :D

I sling mine out and lock the catflap and they both sit looking at me with their sad eyes I turn the music up so I can't hear them and get it done.. they are only cats and absence makea the heart grow fonder.. I have enough to deal with trying to fit things round the children without having demanding moggies as well.

Mind you.. stuff on the paws doesn't work either.. they just walk it all over the house.
Oddly not one of the cats I have ever had was interested in catnip.. yet my sisters 2 go wild over it..

The funniest bit is when they have the hangover and the munchies - no kidding, it's like they've been on a right night on the town.

Some cats aren't affected, but ours got absolutely crazy, and the stuff from the vets is the skunk of the feline world. I buy some for friends who are out of town as it is the real rocket fuel.

I always try and keep some fresh stuff in reserve in case I need to keep them happy, like when we had the windows replaced or when there was painting they would get shut in a small room with the hard stuff, a large dish of crunchies for when the munchies hit and a large dish of fresh water.
